Honor's Magic V2: Visual Perfection Powerhouse
The Huawei sub-brand Honor is maintaining its momentum with the introduction in Asia of what is claimed as the thinnest and lightest book-style foldable smartphone to date after reaching the 200-megapixel club with the international debut of the Honor 90 smartphone. Let’s look at the new Honor Magic V2 Tablet in full detail.
Honor Magic V2 Design
When the Pixel Fold was announced in May, Google hailed the design and construction, stating that it was the thinnest folding phone available, clocking in at 12.2mm thick when folded. That was true at the time of the introduction, but after a short period, it was no longer the case. The MagicOS 7.2 operating system of the Honor Magic V2 is Honor's version of Android 13. That still needs to include Google Play services in China, but it will probably include Google's shop when it launches internationally.
Honor Magic V2 Display
More specifically, the Honor Magic V2 has a 7.92-inch internal FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED panel and a 6.43-inch exterior FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, whereas Google chose a 5.8-inch internal FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and a 7.6-inch external 2K 120Hz AMOLED display. However, it's not just a matter of the Fold being the smaller of the two; aspect ratio plays a major role. Rather than being a flagship-level CPU, the Tensor G2 in the Pixel Fold is more comparable to the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 in the £529 Motorola Edge 40. Nevertheless, our tester discovered that the Pixel Fold performed admirably under regular usage with no obvious latency or slowdowns.
Honor Magic V2 RAM & Camera
Honor features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform with Adreno graphics, 16 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of storage. The storage is not great for storing videos and photos, but if you need to create space on this mobile, simply remove photos with the Smart Transfer app by following the easiest steps. Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and 5G mobile internet with support for the aptX HD and LDAC codecs and AAC make up the connectivity options. The array of rear cameras consists of a 50-MP F1.9 primary camera with OIS, a 50-MP ultra-wide, and a 20-MP telephoto camera. Up to 40x digital zoom and 4K UHD video capture are also available. Two 16-MP selfiecams round out the integrated video/photo features.
