HTC U23 Pro: Versatile Camera & Fast Charging
HTC left the smartphone industry a few years ago in favor of virtual reality, where it had more success. Despite the HTC Vive series' continued success and steady growth, it appears that HTC is still committed to making smartphones. The new HTC U23 Pro midrange, which was just introduced by the firm, appears to be a high-quality phone at a reasonable price.
HTC U23 Pro Camera
It has a sleek, simple appearance that appears to have taken a lot of design cues from contemporary Motorola smartphones. It features flat sides and a rear panel that is slightly curved. The top right corner of the device includes a sizable camera island. Speaking of cameras, there are four on the HTC U23 Pro. 108 MP f/1.7 main, 8MP f/2.4 ultrawide, 5MP f/2.2 macro, and 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor are all present. Although we would like a telephoto sensor with at least two or three times the optical zoom, the manufacturer must make some compromises somewhere to keep prices down.
HTC U23 Pro Display
The 6.7-inch FHD OLED screen on the U23 Pro is large and features a 20:9 aspect ratio. It boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, and only Gorilla Glass Victus is used to protect the glass. The 32MP f/2.4 front-facing camera is housed in a central punch-hole cutout, and the bottom has a slight chin.
HTC U23 Pro Storage
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 CPU, together with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage that can be expanded through a microSD card slot, powers the new HTC U23 Pro. You can try saving contacts and photos on this phone from an older device with data sharing Smart Transfer app that can help to move data with no interruptions. Expandable storage is uncommon in mid range devices, although some manufacturers continue to provide it for the specialized market.
HTC U23 Pro Premium Features
IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.
A fingerprint sensor integrated into the power key.
USB-C connector located at the bottom.
NFC and Bluetooth 5.2 support.
4,600 mAh battery capacity with 30W wired charging.
5% reverse wireless charging capability.
15W wireless charging support.
Summary
HTC is still producing smartphones, and the new U23 Pro appears to be a rather good model. Given that HTC is no longer widely available in shops in the UK or Europe, it is difficult to anticipate how effectively the gadget will be maintained in the future.
