One UI 6.0 Android 14: New Beta Available Soon

Samsung just released the initial build of the One UI 6.0/Android 14 beta for the Galaxy S23 series. In the United States, Germany, and South Korea, the update was distributed to Galaxy S23 devices (including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra). The next major version of Samsung's One UI interface, known as One UI 6.0, moves tappable components closer to the bottom of the screen, where they are more easily accessible to users of large-screen devices. Let’s take a look at all the latest features packed with the new update for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series in 2023.

One UI 6.0 Update

Google's Android operating system is currently at version 14. Typically, Samsung releases the One UI/Android combination to its current flagship line first, followed by its most recent foldable models, its most recent flagship phones, and the Galaxy Tab S tablets. The combo update's beta and final stable version will ultimately be sent to more models as well. The second One UI 6.0/Android 14 beta has been pushed out for the Galaxy S23 series, even though Samsung only recently distributed the first beta version a few days ago, but with one significant caveat.

One UI 6.0 Accessibility

You may upgrade your Galaxy S23 model by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Make sure to have enough space on your S23 series for downloading large file updates. You can try a reliable file sharing app such as Smart Transfer to move data to another Android without facing any interruptions. The second beta release's version number is ZWH8, but since users of the Galaxy S23 series outside of South Korea won't receive it if you reside in the United States or Germany, you might as well disregard the fact that the second update was pushed out and wait for the upcoming One UI/Android 14 Beta release that will be made available in your region.

One UI 6.0 Enhanced Features

  • Improved Portrait Video mode effects:

  • Big Circle, Color Point, and Glitch effects now at 30fps (from 24fps)

  • Enhanced Super Steady video recording for improved detail and fluidity

  • Selfie camera's facial form adjustment enhanced for realism

Availability

The upgrade makes it easier for some environments to receive Korea Telecom signals. As you might have guessed, only South Korea will receive this second One UI 6.0/Android 14 Beta release. Even Samsung calls the upgrade a "hotfix." In addition, One UI/Android Beta upgrades often don't come that quickly. The update's final stable version won't likely be released until November 2023.
